SUNRISE, Fla. – It’s a good thing the Buffalo Sabres had an extensive shootout practice Wednesday. It carried them to a victory Thursday. Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville scored in the breakaway challenge, and goaltender Ryan Miller stopped two Florida Panthers as the Sabres earned a 4-3 victory in BB&T Center. The Sabres, who won in Tampa Bay on Tuesday, earned a sweep of their Sunshine State opponents. They’ve won consecutive games just three times this year.
